To me, the world of art and painting is a special world of fable and myth; painting is not about copying what I see in front of my eyes, but rather what I perceive – a mixture of my imagination and senses. Every time I pick up a new canvas or continue work on a piece that is in progress, I am intrigued that most of my work stems from a mood or light, and not so much about the many hours it takes to create, or whether the “right” technique is being used.

Painting does indeed involve a lot of techniques, tools and skill that are developed over years, by diligent study. But painting is also a process of exploration, experimentation, tactile touch and complete accidental magic.
